YAHUKIMO - In a heartwarming display of camaraderie, the Task Forces of Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, operating under the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, visited Kiribun Village in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province, on Friday, January 24, 2025. This initiative, led by First Lieutenant Nico from the Logpon Post, was part of their routine security patrol, enhanced with Social Communication (Komsos) efforts targeting students and teachers at SDN 1 Dekai, an elementary school in the area.
The mission, as emphasized by Task Forces Commander Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, goes beyond security operations—it embodies the TNI's commitment to addressing the needs of local communities. This outreach aligns with the Indonesian Government's broader vision of accelerating welfare development in Papua.
During their visit, the Marines seamlessly blended their security duties with warm interactions, listening to updates from the students and teachers about the area's conditions. Residents expressed immense gratitude for the Soldiers’ concern, fostering trust and cooperation between the TNI and the local community.
One of the residents, Soka Tabuni, shared heartfelt words: "Thank you, Commander Marines. God bless."
